New approaches for treating PTSD

October 8, 2014 0 comments News and Updates

Over the past year, I have had the pleasure of attending two conferences by Dr. Besell van der Kolk on the new research and treatment options for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD affects many people, not only those in uniform who have been to war, but those who have grown up in emotionally, physically, and sexually abusive homes. It’s important for people and organizations to start recognizing that this is a serious issue plaguing thousands of people and to open their minds up to the new treatments and approaches that are available to them. A wise man once said: “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein.

The following is a link to Dr. van der Kolk’s presentation at The 2014 Merle Jordan Conference. I hope that it enlightens and inspires you the way his conferences have me.
